Founded in 1823, Donaldson Baptist Church is the oldest Southern Baptist Church in Caldwell County. Our founding Pastor, James Mansfield, planted this Church, with a few families from around the area, and pastored the work from 1823 to 1851. During that time he helped the Church to plant the First Baptist Church of Princeton and other works. Today, Donaldson is a healthy congregation of believers that has a representation of every age group. We have many babies and children in the families of our congregation, several teenagers, several college age men and women, many working families, several retired families, and a handful of our members have seen their eightieth birthday. We also have a healthy diversity of employment and life-situation: teachers, retired persons of every age and stripe, many former military, factory workers, farmers, bankers, truck-drivers, painters, self-employed, retail workers, mechanics, construction workers, sales-persons, barge operators, nurses, students, stay-at home moms, seamstresses and homemakers, government workers, law enforcement officers, and some who are struggling to find work in the present economy. Donaldson Baptist Church has always been a Church of strong convictions and a tenacity to cling to the "faith that was once for all delivered to the Saints" (Jude 1:3). Jesus Christ is the head of Donaldson Baptist Church and we submit ourselves to Him and the commands that He has given us in His Holy and inerrant Word. Donaldson is a Church striving to be biblically faithful and culturally relevant. Our worship leans toward traditional but often we have southern-gospel or contemporary special music. We have a choir, piano, and organ but are not opposed to other instruments being used for the glory of God. Our pastor preaches expository sermons as he works through books of the Bible. His sermons are rooted in scripture, explain what the text means, how it fits into the grand narrative of scripture, and how it applies to our everyday lives. The Church strongly supports and teaches missions. We give over 20% of our budget to missions each year. We also provide opportunities for the members to be learn about and be personally involved in local, state, North American, and international missions. There is a place for you at Donaldson Baptist Church!
