The Children's Ministry is a place where learning about God is fun and exciting! We exist to show kids the love of Christ and teach them how to grow in their faith. We desire to invest in each child, making sure they know they are special and that God loves them. Our heart is that each child will have a personal and growing relationship with Christ.
University Heights is located just minutes from the campus of Sam Houston State University. That makes it a great place for college students to find a home-away-from-home. But even better than the short distance is the incredible team of leadership students and families who are dedicated to seeing you grow in your faith during your time at SHSU. If you're looking for a church home, we'd love to meet you.
At Discovery Days, you'll find a dedicated team of educators and caregivers who are most concerned with your child's growth, well-being, and safety. Our curriculum is faith-based with "Kindergarten Ready" Accreditation. Additionally, our teacher-to-child ratios are low and our facilities top-notch. We welcome all children Birth-PreK with flexible enrollment options. Select any or all weekdays from 8am to either 1pm or 3pm. To keep you well-connected to the development of your child, we offer frequent skills evaluations along with periodic parent-teacher conferences. Your child's teacher will also keep a student portfolio of milestones and artwork to share with you at the end of the semester.
The Joy Ministry exists to promote the spiritual growth of individuals with special needs, and their families, to equip them in becoming full participants and contributors in the Body of Christ. Joy Ministry is open and available to all ages.
The Preschool Ministry at University Heights is a place where all families are welcome. We provide a variety of ways for preschoolers and their families to make Jesus known while playing and learning together.
Jesus said that one way to know we belong to him is to love one another (John 13:35). Before you can love your fellow church members, you must know them and be known by them. Since that's hard to do in a room full of hundreds on a Sunday morning, you should give real consideration to joining a small group. The groups listed below are small communities of people caring for one another, learning together, challenging each other, and having lots of fun along the way.
We are a real ministry, reaching out to a real world in a very real way. Our ministry exists to be genuine and authentic with students, teaching them about Jesus and how to make Him known. We desire for every student to live fully for Jesus in their everyday lives. If you are in the 7th through 12th grade feel free to connect with us in person on Sundays and Wednesdays to start...then after a while you will find ways to be used outside the church walls to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
