The Baptist Men encourage one another in ministry and provide assistance to the church during special ministry projects, events, and fellowships. But the Baptist Men also play together! They hold an annual trap and skeet shooting event and are known to fellowship (eat) a lot!
Deacons serve FBC through team-based ministry. Each has completed a spiritual gifts inventory, trained in a team-based servant leadership model, and committed to serving the church in focused ministry. Each deacon serves as a ministry contact for about 20 families and also provides church-wide leadership in a specific area of ministry. The deacons of FBC actively serve God by serving you.
The Family Ministry Center was completed in 2007 (Thank you to all the volunteers that helped with it!) It is the vision of FBC to use the building as a tool to introduce lost and unchurched persons in the community to God and to the church. The FMC has a High School size gym floor with six basketball goals and the space for two volleyball courts. It is a two-story building with a walking track above the gym. Also, there is a weight room with about a dozen fitness machines. The game room has video games, air hockey, foosball, and ping pong. Hundreds of people (young and old) are using the facility every week. The hours of operation are posted on our webpage www.fbcdesloge.net
Updated information forth coming. This is an active ministry that includes 7th through senior high.
FBC actively promotes and supports the Cooperative Program, Lottie Moon, Annie Armstrong, and Missouri Baptist Convention missions offerings. But that's not all. The youth group plans annual mission trips whereby 7th - 12th grades work in a variety of ministry settings. Past trips have included inner-city ministries, construction work, puppet/drama/Bible club ministries, and help at soup kitchens and clothes closets. FBC has supported its college students through the years in short-term international mission trips, usually planned through their schools. Individual adult members of FBC commonly participate in volunteer missions including Missourians on Mission, Campers on Mission, SBC Disaster Relief and other short-term ministries. On the international scene, we are in a 3 year partnership with a church in British Columbia reaching Farsi speaking Persians with the Gospel. Concluded is a partnership with a Romanian pastor to support ministries in three villages in Western Romania. Two of our church members regularly traveled to Senegal, Africa with a medical mission team, the Amazon Basin in Peru for village evangelism, and Haiti for servant evangelism.
This Baptist Women's group plans, organizes, and carries out local mission projects. They assist families, organize efforts to provide toys at Christmas, clothes, and food when special needs arise. They meet monthly (4th Tuesday evenings) for fellowship and planning.
