DR.
ADRIAN PIERCE ROGERS
September
12, 1931 - November 15, 2005
Founder
of Love Worth Finding, Pastor Emeritus of
Bellevue Baptist Church, Cordova, TN, and
three-time president of the Southern Baptist
Convention. Dr.
Adrian Rogers, Founder of Love Worth Finding
Ministries, Pastor Emeritus of Bellevue Baptist
Church and a gifted man of God passed away
in to the presence of
the Lord early this morning after battling
cancer and double pneumonia.
Dr.
Adrian Rogers, preacher/teacher of Love Worth
Finding Ministries, was one of America's
most respected Bible teachers. A devoted
family man – he is survived by his
wife and childhood sweetheart Joyce, four
children, and nine grandchildren.
Under
his 32 years of pastoral leadership, Bellevue
Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, grew
from 9,000 members in 1972 to more than 29,000.
today. He was elected three times as President
of the Southern Baptist Convention, which
is the world's largest Protestant denomination
of 16 million members.
Dr.
Rogers has preached overseas crusades in
Taiwan, South Korea, Israel, Russia, Romania,
and in Central and South America. He has
also served as the keynote speaker for such
meetings as "Washington for Jesus," the
National Association of Evangelicals, and
the National Religious Broadcasters. He has
also served on the board of Focus on the
Family. In 2003, Dr. Rogers was honored to
be inducted into the prestigious Hall of
Fame by the National Religious Broadcasters.
Most
important to Dr. Rogers were the tens and
thousands of believers who have had their
faith strengthened and thousands of others
who have for the first time entered into
a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The
staff of Love Worth Finding stated, “I
imagine literally thousands who came to know Jesus
because of his ministry met him at the gate as he
stepped over to glory and beheld the face of Jesus.”
